Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, a 90+ lawyer firm seeks an associate to join its Life Sciences team in the Morristown, NJ office.  The ideal candidate will have completed a health care curriculum or have relevant experience.




The Firm employs Counsel and Associate attorneys to render legal services for the Firm as licensed practicing attorneys of the States of New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, and Washington D.C.  Associate duties include, but are not limited to, working with clients; reviewing contracts, preparing legal memoranda and other legal documents; researching federal, state and international laws and regulations relevant to the life sciences industry; attending client meetings; and rendering such other services and duties connected with their employment as the Firm, from time to time, will determine.


Associate attorneys must keep abreast of all developments in their area of practice by reviewing texts and other literature related to the conduct of their practice in the Firm. They also are to attend professional meetings and seminars and participate in professional and relevant industry organizations. Associate attorneys are to do all things reasonably desirable to maintain and improve their legal skills.




1. Assist in day-to-day legal and healthcare compliance counseling for pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech companies of all sizes.  Day-to-day counseling activities include advice regarding compliance with the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act, Prescription Drug Marketing Act, Open Payments Provisions of the Affordable Care Act, the Federal Anti-Kickback Law, False Claims Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and other privacy laws impacting life sciences, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation, as well as various state, local and international transparency requirements. 


2. Prepare core healthcare compliance programs for life science companies, including preparation of policies, procedures and guidance documents, as well as training programs.  Assist with monitoring and auditing activities to detect potential non-compliance.


3. Review and advise on contracts, prepare legal memoranda and other documents; attend client meetings, and render such other services and duties as the Firm will, from time to time, determine.


4. Perform research activities and other requested services for Firm subsidiary, Porzio Life Sciences.  These include review of state law requirements regarding drug and device distribution, transparency reporting and gift limitations, and state specific regulation of healthcare practitioner prescribing ability.

Regulatory Analyst, Transparency Services

Porzio Life Sciences seeks a full-time, Regulatory Analyst for our Morristown, New Jersey office. The Regulatory Analyst ("RA") works on the PorzioLS Transparency Services team, providing services to customers to support their compliance with global transparency laws and codes. 

The RA will work directly with PorzioLS customers subscribing to our transparency reporting tools. This includes serving as a project manager and/or compliance specialist on implementations, providing customer support services for the tool and customers' compliance questions, and supporting customers' data and reporting processes. Transparency Services team members also support internal product development, customer support initiatives, compliance research, and other transparency compliance initiatives.  In addition, the RA may work with customers to prepare manually transparency reports, as well as providing data remediation and support services.  This includes reviewing and analyzing data from various spend sources, loading and/or remediating data files, and reviewing final jurisdictional compliance output reports for accuracy and completeness.  The RA will also participate in projects by providing compliance guidance to customers on the laws, codes, regulations, and supporting guidances impacting global transparency reporting.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaboration: Partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders in the provision of the services and customer support.


  • Services: Support multiple customer projects, which includes: (1) providing project management and compliance guidance while interacting directly with customers; (2) providing timely and practical advice and support for questions and concerns regarding global transparency compliance and product utilization; (3) facilitating the global transparency reporting processes; and (4) providing basic technical and data support.


  • Regulatory Expertise: Demonstrate (or develop within 6 months) a deep understanding of global transparency requirements and operations.


  • Project Management: Participate in multiple concurrent projects with independent timelines and deliverables; oversee and independently manage projects or core components of projects in collaboration with team members and report on status weekly.


  • Data and Technology: Perform analysis on flat files and on data within applications; effectively leverage tools such as Notepad, Excel and Access to review, analyze, and modify data sets.


  • Marketing: Support marketing initiatives through participation in product demonstrations, conference attendance and preparation of RFPs and proposals.




  • A Bachelor's degree.


  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in or with life sciences companies in at least one of the following areas: commercial compliance, sales/commercial operations, or aggregate spend/transparency reporting. Alternatively, candidates may have significant technical or customer support experience in order to qualify.


  • Priority will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

    • Knowledge of the various U.S. laws and codes related to life sciences sales and marketing practices.

    • Knowledge of the various global laws and codes related to life sciences sales and marketing practices.

    • Experience in business/customer facing role and customer support.

    • Project management experience.
