New statutes and regulations lacking purpose and reason is causing over regulation of pharmaceutical industries.
In July 2014, Michigan signed into law a new regulation requiring all pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers, in-state and out-of-state, to have a registered pharmacist on staff at their corporate office working a minimum of 8 hours a week in order to gain a license to distribute products into the state. Due to this over regulation, Michigan hospitals, doctors and pharmacies may lose the ability to purchase direct because small branded and generic companies will have difficulty in s pharmacist available to manage their sales
